Problem Statement

Vodafone’s digital ecosystem had become siloed and inefficient. Product teams independently evolved UI patterns across platforms—leading to fragmented user experiences, duplicated effort, and compliance risk. Source, the internal design system, was underused and misaligned with real-world delivery needs. Governance was unclear, contribution was cumbersome, and cross-platform consistency remained elusive.

Solution

As Head of UX, I led the strategic evolution of Source—shifting it from a basic component library to a robust design system that supported journeys, templates, and governance at scale. I redesigned onboarding, embedded role-specific training, and introduced a clear model for contribution, prioritisation, and deprecation. I aligned key squads across Business, Consumer, and IT, and built trust in Source as a platform, not just a library—resulting in faster, more consistent, and compliant digital delivery.
